MISSION

The mission of Floridians for Recovery is to promote the Florida Recovery Movement through existing and emerging Recovery Community Organizations, linking all recovery partners, and encouraging a reduction in obstacles to long term recovery for individuals and families through statewide and local initiatives.

VISION

The vision of Floridians for recovery is to be the leader of the Recovery Movement by engaging, educating and empowering individuals, families, and communities to eliminate the stigma of behavioral health, represent the voice of recovery and promote Florida's Recovery Ecosystem.

Joe Dmitrovic

Director of Outreach

   Joe has over 35 years of long-term recovery and served as former Outreach Specialist at Recovery Connections of Central Florida,

and Resource Development Specialist for the Central Florida RASE Project.   After his 37-year tenure working in private industry, Joe moved into the field of helping others. His passion for recovery led him to serve as an original Board Member of the RASE Project in Pennsylvania as a volunteer. Later he moved into a role as a Recovery Coach with the Dauphin County Drug Court. Joe’s professional background includes sales and marketing for private industry and as a regional marketing and community liaison for an inpatient alcohol and drug treatment program in southeastern Pennsylvania. Joe was instrumental in forming relationships and assisting in the development of the first Recovery Community Organization in Osceola and Brevard counties. Joe’s goal is to advocate to reduce stigma, promote multiple pathways to recovery and provide recovery support services to any individual seeking a better way of life.  Joe is a leader and innovator in advancing Florida's Recovery Ecosystem

Jaime Melnicove

Director of Operations

Jaime is a Nationally Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist, (NCPRSS) and has worked in the substance use disorder (SUD) recovery and treatment fields since 2005, as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist, Trainer, Recovery Coordinator, Program Manager, Intensive Outpatient facilitator and Director of Operations.  Ms. Melnicove managed public health contracts for the state of Pennsylvania and the CDC. She has represented the recovery community on several boards, planning committees, coalitions, and prevention teams throughout Pennsylvania and Florida. Ms. Melnicove has been a woman in long term recovery since 2003 and understands the challenges which may come along with finding appropriate recovery supports especially while being

un-insured. Ms. Melnicove was a part of the recovery movement which created the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs in Pennsylvania in 2005.  And was on the committee to write the first Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) credential in Pennsylvania. Ms. Melnicove studied communications at Pennsylvania State University and visual arts at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. She is a trained educational facilitator and public speaker who is passionate about connecting with the public to eliminate stigma and advance the recovery movement. Ms. Melnicove, has played an active role in building RCO's and advancing recovery support services throughout Florida.
